The simple question is Wizards of the Coast owns Blackmoor.

It is possible that Zeitgeist Games (Dave Arneson's old company) still owns the rights to some parts of the material created for the Blackmoor 3E and 4E line.

Apparently, Bob Bledsaw Sr transferred the rights to the First Fantasy Campiagn (published by Judges Guild) back to the Arneson estate.

I dont know about that. WotC has not been too interested in supporting settings other than the Forgotten Realms this last decade, but during the 3E decade they were. Who knows when the pendulum might swing back again.

I do like the "In the hands of the fans" part though. :)

We might actually be the best caretakers of Dave Arneson's legacy.

Totally agree. My work with DA series, in my intention, is just this. Sadly, I've limited time I can dedicate to D&D and choices must be done. At the moment it's in stand-by. I hope to resume it really soon.

Let me know when you are ready to come back to the DA series work! :)

Maybe we could have more general chats about the setting here to keep the topic warm? :)

forgive me Havard.
I've read this part of chat right now so my answer will be really .. really late.
At the moment I'm really busy with EPK team's projects. The Tomb (english version) is almost completed and we have a big project for the coming months. DA series however are always on my mind. A dream that I want to make true one day.
