I don't have a clear memory of "Beyond the Crystal Cave"
Beyond the Crystal Cave is set in The World of Greyhawk, but the meat of the adventure takes place in its own closed environment. So it can definitely be placed anywhere, within any setting. The adventure BTW is: A D&D adaptation of Romeo & Juliet..
Was there ever a D&D adapted module of Hamlet? ...and I mean a proper adaptation of the entire play? I seem to recall a module cover as an advert in a Dragon magazine bitd, but it was clearly titled "Hamlet".

[Mods: If this is in the wrong forum, please move it to an appropriate forum. I have a hard time understanding the forum titles given here at the Piazza; clever, but confusing....]

I only seem to recall an adaption of The Tempest in Dungeon Magazine, but I´m not even too sure about that. Any rough idea when this ad might have been in the mag?

It had to have been in the mid 1980's. I've scoured my physical copies of the Dragon, but I haven't found the ad. Perhaps I saw it in an issue of White Dwarf (not mine or I'd have found it, since I don't have more than 5-10 issues - ever), or other gaming magazine?

Issue #78 of Dungeon had the adventure "Lear the Giant-King", which is an adaptation of "King Lear".

That's the one! I thought it might be a joke cover, but I can't recall where I saw it. Thank you for finding that pic! It proves that I am not going mad! (At least about this one subject, at least...)

Where did you find it?

Well, unfortunately I could not find the original source. :(

All I was able to locate was someone's blog post from November of 2018, which did not offer any details other than it was not real (which I already knew): https://jasonzavoda-hallofthemountainki ... amlet.html
