I absolutely love this series!

I was wondering when you "plan" (I write that in quotations, as I know plans change and you have a lot on your proverbial plate) on getting around to the "Lost Gods" of Monster Mythology, particularly "The Elder Elemental God"?
He indicated in the past that he's going down the list, So fairly late. He is getting much closer to the "missing" Demihuman goods (and I hope the Lesse Seldarine) which I've been looking forward for a de years 😊

I've added some deities to the list who aren't in the front page, and I've shifted some around, so I really can't say when I'll be working on it, but in general, those categories are essentially the order I'll be doing them all in. :)

Fanthros Storm-Hooves

Post by AuldDragon » Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:33 pm

This month features the second of the four centaur deities that were listed but not detailed in an old Dragon Magazine articles on centaurs. Fanthros Storm-Hooves is the patriarch of the small clan of four deities, who all serve under Skerrit the Forrester. Among the small centaur pantheon, Fanthros is the deity of weather, the sky, and agriculture.

An FYI, Auld Dragon, Fanthros' "major sites of worship" is a duplicate of the "affiliated orders" section on the blog post proper and on the pdf.

Whoops, cut&paste error there. :) It's been fixed (might need to force-reload the page) now, thanks!

Oh boy, I hate to say this, but that's the same text as in the Important Ceremonies/Holy Days section. It looks like the Holy Days text is included in the section above (Day-to-Day activities) at the end.

Oh, I see what happened. I put the Day-to-Day Activities text unlabeled in the Dogma section, and that shifted the next paragraphs. It's been fixed again. Thanks! :D

Panzuriel the Enslaver

Post by AuldDragon » Wed Jan 02, 2019 6:06 am

Panzuriel the Enslaver is the evil of the depths, partially banished long ago by Deep Sashelas and an alliances of oceanic deities. He raises a rabble of followers wherever he can in order to lay waste to the civilizations on the sea floor, although his favored followers are the kraken and morkoth.

I've been trying to work out what you are going to do next...and failing.

You have several pantheons on the go now.

Once the Aquatic Pantheon is done, Lycanthrope Deities will be next. He usually has 2 or so going at the same time.

Getting so close to the Demihumans Deities 😊

I rotate between three different sections these days. Should be easy to pick out which sections I'll be moving to from month to month, although the deity within that is random. :)

Balador the Master of Mead

Post by AuldDragon » Fri Feb 01, 2019 6:39 pm

Of the lycanthrope deities, the only benevolent power is Balador the Master of Mead, Father Bear to the werebears. He is a protector of wildlands, and a wise and paternal guardian to his followers. While shy, he is a lover of good tales told around a fire over a shared mug of mead.

Chitza-Atlan, the Guardian of the Gateway to the Underworld

Post by AuldDragon » Fri Mar 01, 2019 6:11 pm

The most unusual centaur deity is Chitza-Atlan, the Guardian of the Gateway to the Underworld, an interloping undead deity who is said to guard the passage to the underworld and the afterlife. Little is known of his origins, but he has connections with the lord and lady of the dead, Mictlantecuhtli and Mictanchihuatl, and is known to the Olman peoples of Oerth.

Just the Living Greyhawk list of deities eligible for use in the campaign. I'm not sure if that is technically canon, though.

I would be incline to say yes it is as it was the RPGA 3rd ed playground, so close enough.

Demogorgon, the Prince of Demons

Post by AuldDragon » Mon Apr 01, 2019 5:33 am

Powerful enough to claim the title of Prince of Demons, Demogorgon is a foul lord of of the Abyss who has achieved true divinity. Favoring the intelligent shallow-water rays known as ixitxachitl, he focuses on domination and the draining of life energy from victims in order to increase his own power.

Nice One. I always love a Good Demon turn God story.

So now I guess the Dark power and the Seelie Court will be added to the Centaur and Lycantrope roaster.

This is a long thread so I apologize if it has been mentioned already, but I recently came across old White Dwarf Magazines I had from when I was really young and one of the issues (#39) had a whole bunch of new monster deities whose lore seemed to fit quite well in existed canonical early AD&D. Have you seen these, heard of them, or have any interest in updating them? There’s an aarakocra god, bullywug, dire corby, and more.

Another great addition, AuldDragon. At first, I was kind of worried this one wouldn't be something I could just use as-is (because of some of the changes I've made with outer planar beings), but my fears proved to be pointless.

On an unrelated note, I did have a couple quick comments/questions on some of your really (really, really, really) old blog posts and wondered if you had a preferred medium for talking about them?
