Hi! (Bruce Heard Q&A)
Hi all! Thanks to Håvard, I've rejoined the Mystara online community. Thought it was about time! I'm probably going to be more active on the Mystara Facebook page, but hey, I doubt this will prevent me from showing up here as well. Cheers and thanks for being such a force of resilient champions!
Yours truly,
Bruce Heard

Re: Hi!
Welcome aboard, Bruce! Glad to see you back online. Hopefully, we won't hound you with too many questions on here or the FB page. (No promises, with Havard around!)
And thanks again for the awesome game world to play with.

Re: Hi!
Thanks, Rob. It'll be a while before I can get back to any kind of speed with Mystara. It's been a very long while since I was directly involved.

Welcome Bruce! It's really great to see you around (if even if you won't be super active on these boards). I joined the MML back around 96, but was never very vocal - nonetheless I always enjoyed the contributions you made to the community!

Re: Hi!
Like a see-saw in the shape of a great big circle. Funny how life goes. Its nice to go through some old feelings and familiar pleasures. D&D and a darned good world are two of them.

Re: Hi!
Hello, Bruce.
Until now, I have never had the pleasure of direct communication with you. (Although I have read the Q&A with you from a couple years back.) I have gamed in the Known World / Mystara since 1982, and thoroughly enjoyed the development of the setting under your watch. Even today, I have a regular group that plays in Mystara, in the countries you helped flesh out and bring to life.
Forgive me for being a little star struck... I know you don't consider yourself a celebrity, so I will try to get over that quickly.
As everyone else has said, thank you for rejoining our community. I do look forward to chatting about the world we all hold dear.

Re: Hi!
Hi Bruce -
Welcome to the Piazza! I'd just like to echo the sentiments of the other posters here. We asll respect and enjoy the Mystara setting and it's great to hear that Mystara's "god-father" is peeking over our shoulders as it were. Hopefully you'll enjoy what we've been doing to the world of Mystara. As you can see there's been plenty of discussion on the setting, so it's still very much alive.
regards,

Welcome Bruce. The Voyage of the Princess Ark articles in Dragon were my first read in the mag every month.

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome. I'm working on a small adventure for Mystara, just for grins and this occasion. I'll post a heads-up when it's ready. Cheers!

I'll second that. Those specific issues were pretty much the only ones I bought (back in the day).ghendar wrote: The Voyage of the Princess Ark articles in Dragon were my first read in the mag every month.
Mystara is the only place I have ever campaigned (more then one adventure in a row) playing D&D, for about 32 years now (in other words, when it was just being "born"). I have loved it.

Re: Hi!
Wow! I'm trying not to seriously geek out here
As with ghendar and JTrithen, VotPA (and, later, the Known World Grimoire) was the only reason I still tracked Dragon after a certain point. Mystara has been the campaign world I've used for every game since I ran B10 (combined with Allston's GAZ1) in the early 90s, and for much (if not all) of that time, the development of the world was under your hands. While I didn't get to use as much of your material as I wanted, the ongoing development helped keep my interest in the world.
It's great to see you on the Piazza, and hopefully there won't be too many fanboi moments
