13th Age and 4E compatibility?

Post by Havard »

I heard 13th Age was somewhat inspired by 4E, although geared towards a very different style of play. Does this mean material from one can be used with the other though?

I have looked into it, and while there is a passing resemblance, I don't see a lot of leeway in porting stuff from one to the other, except in very abstract terms. For example, 4e monsters are much more complex, have a lot of options etc. but the 13A monsters are much simpler mechanically, although offering a lot of the same "cool things". If you attempt a conversion, it should be non a case-by-case basis.
