One of the versions of the myth has the capelobo as a shapeshifting vampire, able to appear as a buff dude, but shift into a bestial tapir form, or the half-and-half form that I have here. I left it out as I thought it was trying to do too many things. I like my statblock monsters to have a focus, and the focus of this one is ravenous apex predator.
