Chris Pramas said on Twitter that he is reviving his old RPG group and has decided to run an Al-Qadim game. But he is running the game with Fantasy AGE rules:
Chris Pramas on Twitter wrote:We are trying to revive our old RPG group and after a discussion last week, an idea I hadn't expected (early 90s D&D setting Al-Qadim) proved most popular. I decided to run it with Fantasy AGE though.

I didn't want to run AD&D and if I'm going to spend time converting things, I'd rather do it for my own game than 5E. Many of the old kits convert easily enough to FAGE specializations.

An Al-Qadim Corsair is just the Pirate specialization, a Rawun is a Bard, etc. Other things will require more work, so I'll be designing things like a Sha'ir specialization and a Sand arcana. We'll see how it goes!
Has anyone here thought about playing Al-Qadim with Fantasy AGE rules?

Would you like to see Chris Pramas post his game diaries or maybe put out some sort of Arabian AGE book?

I'd be interested in an Arabian-themed Fantasy AGE sourcebook.

Doesn't want to run AD&D? Doesn't want to run AD&D?! The FIEND!

Nah, I'd really be interested in an Arabian AGE book.

I probably wouldn't use the rules, myself, but I'd love to see Chris Pramas create a new Arabian-style campaign setting for AGE.

I've not looked at the previous AGE books. Do they have much of a setting about them?

Do you think he might add some sort of Arabian region to the world of Freeport?

Titansgrave is a magitech setting that Green Ronin published in conjunction with Wil Wheaton's actual play livestream of the same name. It uses the AGE system.

Dragon Age uses the AGE system (although an earlier iteration), and explores the setting of the Dragon Age video games.

The Expanse also uses the AGE system.

I don't recall the Fantasy AGE core book having much in regards to an explicit setting. It's been a while since I read it, though. There may also be tidbits that you could pick up about an implied setting. I don't recall anything having a fantasy Arabian theme.

Thanks.

I was wondering if an existing AGE campaign setting might be have space for a future Arabian-like region to be added.

My guess is that Dragon Age would have something like that or at least an unexplored area of the map could support it. But I'd need someone who knows the setting better than me to confirm.
